May 2025 — The Male Breast Cancer Global Alliance (MBCGA) is proud to announce its 2025 Annual Educational Conference, a two-day virtual event dedicated to raising awareness and advancing education about male breast cancer. The conference will take place via Zoom on October 24-25, 2025, offering a platform for global experts, clinicians, researchers, and patient advocates to share the latest in research, clinical trials, treatment strategies, and patient support services.
This year's conference continues the Alliance’s mission of addressing the unique challenges faced by men with breast cancer, a rare but impactful diagnosis affecting thousands of families worldwide. The event will feature internationally recognized speakers presenting groundbreaking research, innovative care models, and advocacy efforts tailored to this often overlooked patient population.
Featured speakers include:
• Dr. Jose Pablo Leone — Director of the Program for Breast Cancer in Men, Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and a specialist at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. Dr. Leone will provide an important update on the ETHAN Trial, a Phase II endocrine study specifically focused on male breast cancer patients.
• Dr. Ben Park — Director of the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center and Professor of Medicine at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN. Dr. Park is expected to discuss forthcoming research initiatives in male breast cancer.
• Dr. Fatima Cardoso — Director of the Breast Unit at Champalimaud Clinical Center in Lisbon and Founder of the Advanced Breast Cancer Global Alliance (ABC Global Alliance). Dr. Cardoso brings extensive expertise in global advocacy and treatment innovation.
• Dr. Don Dizon — Director of the Pelvic Malignancies Program at Lifespan Cancer Institute and Director of Medical Oncology at Rhode Island Hospital. A leader in the field of cancer survivorship and sexual health, Dr. Dizon will speak on “Thriving and Palliative Care: What It Is and What It Is Not.”
• Dr. Robert Bard- Director of Bard Cancer Diagnostics and founder of the AngioInstitute in NYC. As a triple board certified radiologist, Dr. Bard has pioneered advanced ultrasound imaging for early detection screening, 2nd opinion scanning and recurrence monitoring of male breast cancer.
• Representatives from ABCD: After Breast Cancer Diagnosis, who will introduce their mentor training program designed to support men navigating a breast cancer diagnosis.
The conference will be structured over two half-day sessions, allowing attendees from different time zones and clinical backgrounds to participate. Topics will include updates on clinical trials, survivorship strategies, integrative care options, and peer-support initiatives.
